There are “morning people” and there are “early morning people.” I’m frequently up and on my way to the bus stop to catch the 6:07 a.m. I enjoy coffee, a small pastry, and digging into the day. The gift in starting this company 25 years ago has been the change of pace and the unending (and welcome) challenge of learning and integrating new technologies.

I’m proudly old-school when it comes to service and client relations. So many firms these days let automation – in one form or another – get between them and their clients. We try very hard to be completely accessible and consistently responsive. Early in my career I had the good fortune to practice law in a firm where wise senior partners modeled professionalism, integrity, resourcefulness, and, above all, client service.

One thing not everyone knows about me: I work a second job. When I get home in the late afternoon, I change into old clothes and head to the “boat shop” (our garage). Loon is the name of the sloop-rigged, 15-foot lap strake boat I built in my spare time. Although finally complete, keeping her in prime shape still takes work!
