Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of entertainment, and still one of the most moving ways to connect with others in life, and in your business. Using your website to creatively tell your story will help you connect with your prospective customers on a more personal level.

AMR Care Group, a geriatric care management and home care company in New York, recently redesigned their website at the end of a rebranding process that included a name change and updated branding and marketing materials. They were redefining their story, and their website redesign was the perfect project to bring all of the elements into one place. A few of the highlights:

Creative naming of navigation—Navigation should guide users through your website. It should not be confusing; however, interesting page names can entice visitors to visit pages they might not normally. Anne used Our Story instead of About Us, Your Story in lieu of Who We Serve, and Your Team in place of Our Team.  Her goal was to tell visitors that her company was a little different, and the result is friendly, inviting, and still professional!

Lifting up testimonials—Testimonials are the best form of business storytelling, because instead of you telling your own story, someone else is telling it for you. Someone your customers can relate to and trust. Testimonials are lifted up via the home page navigation with pull-quotes from the larger testimonial. If you click on the animation, you go to a page featuring the testimonial and the relevant services relating to it.

Photos tell your story without words—Photos are a big part of any website. Taking the time to take your own photos or budgeting for a photographer to take photos for you is always worth the effort! Anne’s photos throughout the website add warmth and personality, from images of her team with clients, to pictures on the Your Team page of her staff with a personal item that tells a little more about themselves…a visitor doesn’t have to read much to understand the story of AMR Care Group.
